All clubs will be held at The Bridge Youth Center for students (Grades 7-12). Clubs are open for students in Beach Park, Zion, Winthrop Harbor, and Wadsworth, IL. All clubs are free and transportation is available upon request.

Self-defense for young ladies
Starting October 23rd, we will be hosting a FREE self-defense for 7th – 12th grade young ladies, hosted at the Bridge on Wednesdays from 3:30-5 PM!
The class will be taught by Erna Gramer–fitness enthusiast and brown belt in Kempo Karate!

If you sign up for this adventure, you will learn the fine art of wood strip canoe building. Not only will you learn the safe use of power and hand tools, you will also learn the lost art of patience; As canoe building is a gratifying but not immediately gratifying endeavor. Like the Marines, I only need a few good men / women who are willing to commit to a lengthy, dusty, and sometimes smelly project.

If you’ve ever wished you could play and make music, well now you can! This is for the beginner. You’ll learn how to tune, how to strum and finger pick, and you’ll learn some basic chords. Just a few minutes of practice a day and you’ll be surprised at how many of your favorite songs you’ll be able to play! We have some guitars if you don’t own one, if you do… bring it! Each week will feature a different chef who will teach you how to prepare a meal from their specific culture. At the end of the quarter, you’ll walk away with better knowledge of the kitchen, a full stomach, and a cookbook of all the recipes we used.
